Lith is a figure that I worked on forever. I'd have a breakthrough about some details I wanted to add, but never felt like she was finished. The original body and head sculpt came from a Metal Gear Solid Meryl that I hated to lose, but she was a perfect base for this character. The idea for her started to take form while listening to the Yoko Kanno song "Lithium Flower" and watching a lot of Ghost in the Shell, and she was sort of born from there. Everything about her design I wanted to seem high tech and functional. Lots of straps and gear. I started playing with the idea of her being wired right into the sight on her pistol, and not having to "look" where she was aiming. I probably think way too much about this. Once I got the plug in her neck, and the other end in the gun, I started thinking that she would need a place to store the wire when it wasn't in use. After a ton of failed attempts, where nothing looked compact, functional, or just plain slick enough, I finished the piece that is now on her right arm. The sick part is I couldn't settle until it was functionally retractable. The silver part on top spins, and winds the wire inside.
