So, crowns. I kind of want to make a few more, even though I don't have a specific figure in mind for them.
I started making crowns. It started as an idea for my custom Predator. I thought it would be cool if the reason he was called the Red King was that one of his trophies was a king's crown, and started figuring out how to make one. I was so happy with the result, and was having fun making it, I knocked out a second one. Which, oddly, triggered a bunch of new ideas for the House of Seasons. It's bizarre and amazing how ideas generate other ideas, and chain off each other like dominoes. I've been really active with projects lately, and I find the more I work on stuff, the more new ideas I seem to have.

I've been working on Krysa for a while now, and still feel like I have a ways to go before she's really finished. She's a big part of the House of Seasons story line, and I'll do a more detailed write up on her when she's done and I make a full gallery for her. But a little background. She's Violet Rose's Roommate and oldest friend, not a witch or magic user of any sort, but possibly one of the most dangerous and deadly characters in the House of Seasons story line. Even though there's a ways to go on the figure, I couldn't help but include her in the Christmas photo shoot, and immediately after, she was the first figure I tried my hand at wigging her head from scratch. Which I learned is kind of a pain in the ass. Actually wigging the head isn't the worst part. I used lines of contact glue to basically make glue wefts on the hair, that I could cut into thin strands. The hard part was taming the hair once I finished. I used a decent synthetic, not just the cheapest garbage I could find, so I thought it'd behave more like real hair. But getting it to hold a shape and lay reasonably flat took a ton of hairspray, watered down elmers glue, and heat. After finally getting it to reasonably do what I wanted, I gave it a cut with a pair of cuticle scissors.
I learned a lot doing it, and I definitely plan to use a different hair next time, but I'm still really happy with the result. And since I really like how the figure is coming along, I thought I'd share a few pics. Oh, the Red King is coming all right. Work on my 1st 1/6 scale custom predator has begun. And it's going to be epic.
