1/6 Chinese Food Boxes

So, I have a bad habit when it comes to projects. When I see somthing that looks great and seems clever, especially if it looks fairly easy to make, I have to make it. And it's rarely as easy as it looks. The spiral staircase for the loft started simply because the idea of using wooden fans to make the stairs just seemed like such a good idea, and looked so good, I had to do it. So that's how I ended up making Chinese food takeout containers.

I ran into a the template for them online, already (supposedly) sized to 1/6 scale. But of course, I didn't want to just keep the generic graphic. Fat Dragon Chinese Takeout is Violet Rose's favorite local delivery spot, so I spent an hour or 2 designing their logo. I printed out a test page, and realized that the site that posted the template was WAY off, and it was huge for 1/6 scale. It took a bunch of trial & error before I got something that really looked the right size. Also, once I had a bunch of these, I realized cutting, folding, glueing, and adding the little metal handle was not really a quick project.

But totally worth it! I decided to throw together a quick photo shoot of Violet Rose eating takeout. Once I finish the whole loft, I plan to do 1 big photo shoot, and these will definitely be some great props to have on hand.
