Cursed Skull Chamber

I think the 1st time I saw the head in the glass container on Sleepy Hollow, I thought "Well, I'm going to need to make one of those in 1/6 scale".
Picture
The glass is a seal-able jar, and the metal structure is all made with styrene plastic strips, painted and weathered with Doc O'Brien's weathering powders. The skull is from this awesome ebay seller , and is actually 1 of 10 that I ordered from them.  And trust me, I know I'll find a use for all 10 skulls (11 actually, since they hooked me up with a bonus skull!).
Picture
The whole thing is a bit heavier than I'd like (poor Violet Rose can barely carry it) but it's a pretty minor complaint.  Whose skull, and how it plays into the House of Seasons world is a story for another time.

Ah, thank you! And I definitely need to get the weight down before we consider that option. Thing is heavy as hell for its size. But if I could, it would make a hell of a cool looking necklace...

One can never have too many skulls, miniature or otherwise. I've been looking for miniature crystal skulls lately. Finally found a set of six. (I'd rather have had 12... or 13.)

I know this project is, like, five years or more ago. I apologize for the "necro" questions. Then again, skulls, so appropriate, right?

How did you accomplish the rivets? Are they heads snipped off of tiny brads or nails?

And the wheel - I'm guessing a "found object," a part from a broken toy or gadget?

Excellent "weathered copper" effect on the metalwork. Wrapping the handle with leather is a nice detail.

Thornapple's hat is... a topic best left for another time, or I'll never stop!

So glad you dig it!!! And no apologies necessary. I'm just happy you found and enjoyed, and oh so appropriate, considering the subject matter. I was excited actually when I realized I had included a link to the original seller on the skulls, then disappointed they were no longer active. They were killer, especially for the price.

Score on the skulls! Yeah, I'd imagine crystal skulls in the perfect scale would be tough to find. I'm guessing you have a particular project in mind for them? Psyched to see what you do with them!

You're totally right on the rivets, they're the heads of brads. I have in a few sizes and use CONSTANTLY. And I can't recommend enough those Doc O'Brien's weathering powders for stuff like rust and oxidized metals, and about a million other uses. Solid investment. And nailed it on the wheel too. I think an old broken Bioshock figure probably?

And so glad you Like Thornapple's hat too! I wanted a kinda twist on the classic witch hat, and it ended up working so well with her sorta steampunk outfit.

Thank again for all the coments!
